Stoneham Board of Selectmen – Minutes of Meeting of October 13, 2009
Chairman John F. DePinto called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Also present were Selectmen Richard S. Gregorio, R. Paul Rotondi, Frank Vallarelli, and Town Administrator David Ragucci. Selectman Robert W. Sweeney and Town Counsel William H. Solomon were unable to be present.
Pledge of Allegiance
Reappoint Cultural Council Members
Selectman Vallarelli moved to reappoint Melissa Powers and to appoint Alice Bartram to three-year terms on the Cultural Council, seconded by Selectman Rotondi. Motion was unanimously voted (4-0).
FY10 Budget Adjustments
Town Administrator Ragucci reviewed the proposed budget adjustments. Selectman Rotondi moved to accept the recommended budget which totals $59,768,209. Motion was seconded by Selectman Gregorio and unanimously voted (4-0). Selectman Rotondi moved that 50% of the remainder of free cash, approximately $175,000 go into the Stabilization Account and 50% to the Capital Stabilization Account. Motion was seconded by Selectman Gregorio and unanimously voted (4-0).
Mr. Ragucci said he has figures from Stoneham Ford for a 2010 14C van with a lift for $48,000 or they could lease the van for almost $11,000 a year for 5 years and after the lease expires they could purchase the van for $1. Selectman Gregorio asked if they could do anything with the Police cars.
Executive Session
Selectman Rotondi moved to go into executive session and not return as the Board of Selectmen, to discuss litigation. Motion was seconded by Selectman Vallarelli and unanimously voted (4-0).
