Stoneham Board of Selectmen – Minutes of Meeting of February 20, 2007

Vice Chairman DePinto called the meeting to order at 7:13 p.m.  Also present were Selectmen Anthony C. Kennedy, R. Paul Rotondi, George E. Seibold, Chairman Robert W. Sweeney, Town Administrator David Ragucci, and Town Counsel William H. Solomon.

Budget/Joint Meeting

The Boards discussed the recommendations of the break-out committees and proposed warrant articles.  Town Administrator Ragucci reviewed the recommendations.  Selectman Rotondi moved to discuss putting things on the warrant.  Motion was seconded, and a roll call vote was taken.

Motion was unanimously voted.

Selectman Rotondi moved to direct the Town Administrator to draft an article, with Town Counsel, concerning Chapter 32B, Section 18, and submit it before 2/26. Motion was seconded by Selectman Kennedy and unanimously voted.  Chairman Sweeney and Vice chairman DePinto will meet with Town Administrator Ragucci to discuss increased and additional fees.  Selectman Rotondi moved to have Town Counsel contact interested parties in putting up a billboard and, if they say yes, authorize putting an article in.  Motion was seconded by Selectman Kennedy and unanimously voted.  Chairman Sweeney took the gavel while Vice Chairman DePinto moved to have a parking article for Town property and for valet parking regulations, seconded by Selectman Rotondi. Vice Chairman DePinto and Chairman Sweeney will pursue the driving range, working along with Selectman Seibold and his project.  Vice Chairman DePinto moved to bring back the warrant article from the last annual town meeting to turn the Retirement Board over to the State, only if the savings if $150,000.  Motion was seconded and unanimously voted.  Vice Chairman DePinto took the gavel back.  Town Counsel Solomon, Selectman Rotondi, and Vice Chairman DePinto will meet about the permitting process.  Selectman Rotondi moved to have an article to have the Selectmen have the authority to lease Town property, seconded by Chairman Sweeney and unanimously voted.  Chairman Sweeney took the gavel while Vice Chairman DePinto moved to bring the Emerald Court article back.  Motion was seconded by Selectman Seibold and unanimously voted.  Vice Chairman DePinto took the gavel back.  Selectman Kennedy will work with Town Administrator Ragucci on forecasts.  

Selectman Rotondi moved to adjourn.  Motion was seconded and unanimously voted.

Meeting adjourned at 10:25 p.m.
