5/5/08- You may see members of the Stoneham Fire Department wearing red shirts on Fridays. Red shirt Friday is a show of solidarity in support of our troops.
Any Fire Department personnel wearing a red shirt on Friday has donated $5.00 for the right to wear the shirt on that particular day.
Money collected from the red shirt program will be donated to HOT (Help Our Troops).

Through state Fire Marshal Steve Coan, the Metro Fire Chiefs have awarded the Scroll of Honor pin for Fire Department personnel who have served in the military in Iraq and Afghanistan.

4/19/08- The department welcome's back FF Sean Fitzgerald and FF Justin Petrillo from their recent deployments to Iraq. Unfortunately, Justin returned early due to the death of his father (who is also the father inlaw of FF Paul Dockery). Condolences to both Justin and Paul and their families.
Earlier this month FF Dave Bettencourt retired after serving Stoneham for over 34 years. Past and present members gathered with David at a local restaurant last week to celebrate his career and retirement.
