Division Overview
As of November 2000, the Town of Stoneham has purchased the street lighting system from Boston Edison Company (now NStar Electric). The Engineering Division manages the street lighting program. Any reports of street lights out should be directed to the Department of Public Works at 781-438-0760 during normal business hours. The company that the Town of Stoneham has contracted with to make repairs and/or provide replacements is Wakefield Municipal Light.
When reporting a streetlight outage, please provide the following:
• Problem – outage, cycling, dayburn (light on during the day) etc.
• Street light number if possible
• Street address
• Cross Street
• Caller’s name and number
