INCOME TAX RETURNS
AARP Tax-Aide is the nation's largest free, volunteer run tax assistance and preparation service. It is availalbe to taxpayers with low and moderate incomes and gives special attention to people age 60 and older. Tax-Aide volunteers are trained to assist with filing the 1040 Form and the more standard of the schedules, including A & B. Taxpayers with complex tax returns are advised to seek paid tax assistance.
Volunteer Tax-Aides will be available through Tuesday April 12 from 9:00 a.m. to noon. There will be 12 appoinments available each Tuesday. This service is free of charge, but if you can mae a donation of $10 or more to the Senior Center it would be most appreciated.

TAX CREDIT- ARE YOU ELIGIBLE?
The Circuit Breaker Tax Credit is a state income tax credit for Massachusetts homeowners and renters, age 65 or older, who meet income limits and other eligibility requirements. The maximum tax credit you can get is $970 for tax year 2010. The actual credit depends on your income and your real estate tax payments. You can file back three years to claim the credit.
Says Director Maureeen Canova, "This benefit is worth investigating and we have two free resources to help you deterime if you are eligible."
Selectman John DePinto, a Certified Public Accountant, said that elderly taxpayers who need help filing to claim a circuit breaker credit coudl receive his free assistance. Contact Diane Lawrebnce through the Board of Assessors at 781-279-2640.
