Carpooling
Let's Do Lunch - Earn a Gas Card
With the arrival of summer vacations, the price of gas and only one van, we are asking those who have their own vehicles to consider offering friends or neighbors a ride to enjoy lunch at the Senior Center. Look around the lunch room. Can you give someone a ride on one or more days for lunch? We could not only use your help, but we can make it worthwhile. Anyone who routinely volunteers to bring one of more friend or neighbor to lunch will be eligible to receive a gas card once a month to help with expenses. It's our way to say thank you for making Stoneham a Senior Friendly Community and for helping the environment!

MBTA The Ride
As you may know, the Senior Center is down to one van. We are asking all people who currently have the RIDE to utilize this program first for medical appointments. If you think you may be eligible for the RIDE, we encourage you to fill out an application, which is availalbe at the front desk or by calling 800-533-6282. If you need help with the form, make an appointment with Diane or Marcia on Monday or Wednesday by calling 781-438-1157. Your health care provider needs to fill out the last page of the application, before it is mailed to MBTA in Boston. THe RIDE takes seniors for shopping, medical appointments, hairdressers, banks and to and from activites at the Senior Center. At $2.00 a trip (even on weekends), it's a wonderful alternative and better than staying hoime.
