Our newest fundraising project is a partnership with a professional fundraiser and used book seller called GOT BOOKS?. They are dedicated to keeping books out of the trash and putting them in the hands of those who need and want them including troops overseas, classrooms, libraries and other groups in need. Many are sold in their weekly Charity Book Sale, where half of the profits are given to different non-profit groups; some are sold on-line and the unsalvageable ones are recycled as a last resort. Items never end up in the landfill.
We think this is a worthwhile mission and ask that you deposit your hardcover and paperback books, new and old, textbooks, children's, fiction and non-fiction in the container located at the Northwest corner of the building. In addition to books, they are also happy to accept Videos, CDs, DVDs and audio books. They do not accept encyclopedias, magazines, newspapers and catalogs because they get out of date so quickly. When the GOT BOOKS? container is filled, they collect and weigh the contents and send us a check. How easy is this!
Shaw's Rewards Program
We submitted $40,000 worth of cash register receipts for the Shaw's and Star Market's Rewards program. We need your receipts in order to reach our next $5,000 installment. To date we have received $321.42. Please continue to drop your receipts in the box labeled "Shaw's Receipts" at the desk by the front door. Thanks
